Home again: Portland

I spent Thanksgiving and the subsequent week in Portland at my sister’s place. The trip was wonderful but all consuming. (We ate out A LOT.)

These were some of the best:

1. Veritable Quandary (beet infused bloody marys)

2. Broders (Scandinavian brunch)

3. St. Jack’s (fancy French)

4. The Country Cat (classy Southern comforts)

5. Paley’s Place (sweetcheeks, I mean sweetbreads special…)

6. Road Runner (ambitious breakfast)

We also took in some bluegrass, country, gospel (see above) and soul music. AND on my last night, we caught these guys:
